Studio and street photography

Image
Studio... Lighting: We applied an orange gel and a purple gel on the key light and the  fill light  We left the back light white and turned down the brightness setting to half way so that the exposure won't go funny.   Altogether we used: Fill lighting  Key lighting  Back lighting Exposure: Because the lighting was so bright, it took a few trail and error photographs to get the perfect exposure and focus.  Experiences: I wanted my photos to turn out with a slight hint of bold colour yet I wanted the background to be white. This, I feel was very close to how I imagined it turning out.  Street... The lighting the I used for my street photography was natural lighting. Getting the perfect photos to put on my last 2 magazine covers was overall a lot simpler then the studio photography as I had to use artificial lighting. One big problem was that the sun kept appearing from the other side of the building that i was shooting i...

MAN animation

Image
This animation was a simple cartoon sequence about man kind killing nature and animals for greed. It exposes the meat industry, and other powerful companies that are slowly destroying the planet. It is a very clever sequence as it follows a simple story line. The short film has a very serious message behind it, this is a very bleak way of getting the message across but shows a sense of humour as well. Steve Cutts used a basic adobe software along with a more advanced version to create the sequence.

Final Triptychs

Image
So this is my final triptych, basically the original idea I had of the polaroid portraits of the human body did not go to plan. The sizes were not right so the body ended up not being in proportion. I went to a LANY concert and  I thought to make a triptych out of the photographs that I took as a back up plan, (just in case). I edited them so that they all had pink and blue undertones.    The colours that i edited into the photos were based on my original idea of the light and dark blocked colours. I toned the contrast up in the photograph on the far left hand side as there was a head in the shot and i wanted most of the focus of on the band. Before deciding the layout of the final triptych I played around for a bit by originally placing the photos on top of each other. I also placed them in symmetry until deciding on this layout. The photos that I took were originally all square. I cut half other photos on the ends so that the fit into the spaces i provided b...

Media industry job roles

Actors are the once that are representing many others work and efforts.   It is rare for the public to see the Scriptwriter, the Producer, or the Director. T heir perception is based on what the Actors portray on screen. Christmas animation

At the beginning of Steve's lesson we watched two animations on the subject of christmas. To start, we watched a modern day animation which was from the perspective of a little girl on christmas eve. Even though it started off calmly, santa clause was not how he seems. there ended up being a slightly disturbing representation of the man himself as he ended up forming into a terrifying creature.  The second film we watched was around 5 to 10 minutes long and was filmed and set in the 1930s. it was based in an orphanage on christmas day morning, although in the beginning scene we see that the children are having a jolly time, all that begins to change. one by one we see all the children's toys begin to brake and disintegrate. yet a stranger that looks a lot like Chris Cringle sees all the children in tears as he peeps through the window and has a marvellous idea to make them all toys out of objects he finds in the orphanage.  i found the first animation quite ...

look book pages

Image
Pages! My idea for the pages in my look book i have created a bunch of polyvores for the different onscreen film and series, i am portraying as people. My idea includes taking photos of different people that fit the aesthetic of the film/series. First of all, I have challenged myself to choose a certain colour scheme for the photoshoot depending on what era the production is set. For example... For The Life Aquatic, the contrast of colour used by Wes Anderson are red, blue and white. This was mainly to convey themes of passion, melancholy and beauty. For my photoshoot I will be using a Gobo (projector) and find a portrait of the sea to project on to the muse. For dramatisation, I want to dress the model in a costume similar to the one seen in the film. As it is a mesh of film as a whole, I would prefer to include an aspect of every character into the portrait.  The film is set during the 20th century so the colours will be dulled down to a pastel theme.  Backgrounds!...

pyramid scheme

Image
A Pyramid Scheme is A business model that recruits people with the promise of monthly payment and a high salary for enrolling more people into the scheme as well rather then supplying investments and sale of products or services.  It is very easy to get scammed by such things on the internet, the people recruiting you will ask you to pay your own money into the business and in return, get a higher income from the company.  The pyramid scheme is highly illegal. So if you or someone you know is involved, warn them. THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR: Your income is mainly based on the number of people you recruit, and the money those new recruits pay to join the company (not on the sales of products to consumers). you are required to buy lots of inventory You are forced to buy things without needing or wanting them just to stay within the standing of the company

mood board

Image
This is my mood board for my "BRICK" magazine, I have taken inspiration from The Drive New York The overall aesthetic is based on runway make-up, linear photography and cinematography from music videos. I wanted to incorporate a wide range of this kind of photography into my magazine cover because there is a colourful variation of aesthetics, I am in love with the idea of the muse being the main focus of the picture and having a counter balance of colour and expression within the photograph. The colours I have chosen for this mood board will have a massive impact on the magazine covers end result as i want there to be a analogous colour scheme. The theme however will be simple but sweet, as you can see the photography I have incorporated has a basic appeal yet stands out to the eye as the muse is always in the centre of the picture yet at the same time does not draw away from aesthetic.
