Script for "Many A Moon"

Many a Moon.
Fade in:
EXT> Cern Lab, The Forest, Switzerland.
Fade in:
INT> In the heart of the lab, where there is a very dull and dark waiting room for the patients.
Dissolve to:
A traumatized Cedric Quinn is wrapped in a hospital blanket and dressed in a gown fit for a patient. Dr Novak, a skinny elderly gentleman with a slim lanky build comes out of his study to collect his next patient…

Dr Novak:

*coughs quietly under his breath* Cedric Quinn, it’s time for your briefing.
Cedric stands up hesitantly and bitterly walks towards the room.

Dr Novak:

Please, have a seat. *Dr Novak fiddles with Cedric’s paper work whilst Cedric waits patiently* How are you?

Cedric Quinn:

Fine, why am I here exactly? Have you got more information about my symptoms?


Dr Novak:

*smirks ever so slightly* ahh getting straight to the point there.


Cedric looks at him in utter confusion as Dr Novak struggles to manuva the chalkboard.


Dr Novak:

Well, you see kid. You’re not like most people that’s why you’re so important to CERN. We would like to keep you here for slightly longer than you expected.


Cedric Quinn:

Why is that?


Dr Novak completely ignores Cedric’s last comment as he very quickly changes the subject.

Dr Novak:

So tell me Mr Quinn, when did you start having these visions?
Cedric looks up at him with sorrow

Cedric Quinn:

When my parents passed away.
Dr Novak goes straight to his next sentence without any sympathy

Dr Novak:

Right, okay let me explain this to you.
*takes out a piece of chalk*

Dr Novak:

When your parents died it was very unexpected im guessing?

Cedric Quinn:

Well yea-

Dr Novak:

I have discovered something. An average human can only access 10 percent of their brain, after this happened to you, multiple gateways opened up in your head resulting in past visions and memories. Because of this, You can now manipulate what others see as your past but only you know the truth.

Cedric is shocked and in denial

Cedric Quinn:

What's going to happen to me…?

Dr Novak:

It is unclear, this is why we are going to have to run a few more tests on you. If you try to leave at any time during your stay or disobey any company policies you will be sanctioned.
Two bodyguards come in with multiple weapons and grab Cedric by the arms and pull him from his chair.  
Cedric is vulnerable and confused to what is going on at first and then starts to get angry.

Cedric Quinn:

No, No get off me what are you doing?!? Doctor Help please.


Dr Novak watches the bodyguards insidiously as they drag Ceric down the corridor to a cell.

Overall  I was very proud of my lookbook, I feel like my skills on photoshop and InDesign have improved a lot. In terms of improvement, I could've taken a photo that incorporated all aspects of the magazine and focused more on how it would have matched the colour scheme. If I were to do this project again I would have probably painted the front cover with either acrylic or oils to draw attention, I would have wanted to show how it was unique just by looking at the cover.  The overall time it took to complete each look book page was approximately 2-4 hours due to the amount of correcting and editing I had to do. If I had to re-construct my lookbook I would have made my design less complicated. Also, I would have used more models to add more diversity to the magazine. The Text on pace two could have been slightly darker as you cannot read most of it due to the colour of the background. Many A Moon: foley, Cinematography etc.

Foley: I didn't get to record Foley for my short film as there were no harsh sounds that needed emphasising as I had a on-cam mic attached. If I had I would have emphasised the sounds of the chair and the felt tip against white board. Cinematography: I picked a space In the collage that had filtered sun light seeping through into the room which in the end created a more eery atmosphere. I ended up tinting the film a very dark blue colour. List of sounds: These are the list of sounds that I wanted to include in my film footsteps coming up to the doctors office - Getting someone to walk across wooden floorboards leaves rustling in the forest - rustle the branches wind blowing - Go record this near a river  door opening and closing - Hold the mic really close to the door hinges and open the door  pen on whiteboard - Hold the mic really close to the felt tip dragging across the board.

annotated scripts

Down bellow is my annotated script. I had to make a fair few adjustments due to location changes and difficulties. I could not shoot the final scene as my location and cast were not avalible. Also I could not get hold on the correct costumes that were necessary. However my cast members did improvise the scene were the doctor is explaining the symptoms to Cedric to make it into the time bracket.
