COLOURSSSSS

With colours you can set a mood, attract attention, or make a statement. You can use color to energize, or to cool down. By selecting the right color scheme, you can create an ambiance of elegance, warmth or tranquility, or you can convey an image of playful youthfulness. Colour can be your most powerful design element if you learn to use it effectively. This is what we learnt in Mondays lesson.
For example colours are seen every where we look. Different colours have different affects on us. For example: Red is often perceived as a colour that symbolises dander and the only colour to raise our blood pressure by a significant amount. Blue on the other hand has a more calming effect.
Complimentary colour schemes:
colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel are considered to be complimentary for example: blue and orange.
The high contrast of complementary colours creates a vibrant look especially when used at full saturation. This colour scheme must be managed well so it does not clash.
Analogous colour schemes:
Analogous colour schemes use colours that are next to each other on the color wheel. They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs. For example: black white and grey is a classic combination of analogous colours.
